Studio Inquiry

In this you will develop a body of design outcomes using large scale signage format and projection as your primary canvas. You will interrogate experimental approaches to graphic design with the aim of developing techniques and methods to manipulate typographic form structure.

This studio investigates how two dimensional typographic structure can be transformed in three dimension space. Participants of this studio will be able to create design solutions in a range of final mediums including UX, website, motion graphics and traditional printed formats such books, posters and packaging.
Engagement
Through experimental practice the studio explores and challenges traditional means of visual communication using large scale projection art, experimental graphic design and large format signage. You will present your work to an external audience through regular pop up presentations and mini exhibitions in and around the City campus.
Communication of knowledge
The primary focus of the studio is to develop an experimental design practice that can be used to tell stories to external audiences. A range of communication design strategies will be used including oral and visual presentations, prototype design and face-to-face workshops.

Activities
The studio takes you on a journey to find and develop your personal, experimental, design practice. You will design and produce a number of experimental outcomes that form the basis of an evolving body of work. You will make large scale artwork/s through a range of signage formats and projection art techniques.
Assessments
This studio has 3 interwoven assessment tasks that inform each other and act as a critical dialogue with the subject matter.
