You've been invited to develop a new interview-based publication (it is your choice whether it is digital or print), including the identity, brand style guide and editorial design (print or digital) with a focus on typography.?
?
This studio will encourage students to deepen their understanding of the current publishing landscape for printed publications and digital media. It will develop their conceptual and visual thinking and further refine their typographic knowledge and technical skills in respect to branding and editorial design.?
Students will develop a printed or digital publication featuring a series of interviews with a statement of 500 words to outline the thinking behind the typography and editorial approach. They can select the client and the number of interviews based on what suits their concept — e.g. it could be a large format newsprint published by local fashion label Alpha60 featuring interviews with a collection of Melbourne creatives or it could be a digital publication produced for NAIDOC week featuring interviews with First Nations artists.?
